Doreen Carlson

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Doreen (Deedee) Carlson, on September 5th, 2025, at the age of 54. She passed away peacefully at her home in Detroit lakes, surrounded by her loving family.

Deedee was born in Detroit Lakes on December 10th 1970 to Sharon and Raymond DeWitt. Some of her younger years she lived in Montana before moving back to the lakes area where she attended school and later graduated from the local tech college.

Deedee was known for her huge heart, her love for most everyone, kindness and sense of humor. She had a huge passion for gardening she always loved her flowers and birds.

She was a devoted mother to her children Tyler (Amber) and Danielle (Brandon) and a cherished grandmother to Lance, Aubriannah and Bodin and her bonus grandchildren Jasmine, Kam, Jersey, Kris and Koby, always making time for them and the simple joys in life. She will be remembered for her unwavering love and the countless memories she created with her family.

She is survived by her sisters Brenda and Bev and brothers Bob and Dwain.

She was preceded in death by her mother Sharon Lavalier, father Raymond DeWitt, step-dad Wayne Lavalier, cousin Benny Frederickson and niece Stacy.

A private family service will be held Friday for DeeDee.
