Fern Bernice Brown

Fern B. Brown age 83 of Detroit Lakes, MN died Sunday February 11, 2024.

Fern Bernice Brown was born November 21, 1940 in Pelican Rapids, MN to Manley and Lorena (Williams) Nelson. Her family lived in rural Pelican Rapids, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at Grove Lake Lutheran Church. She attended Country School near her home and later attended Pelican Rapids High School, graduating in 1958. She then attended the Detroit Lakes Business College for one year. In 1959 she moved to St. Paul and started working for the MN Department of Transportation. She was united in marriage to Gust Brown on Dec. 18, 1959. They moved back to Detroit Lakes in 1963, where she continued working for the MN Department of Transportation until her retirement.

Fern is survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gust; one sister; one brother; and her parents.
