She was very proud of attaining the age of 100 years. She grew up and attended school in Hitterdal, graduating with the class of 1936. On April 15, 1939 Ferne was united in marriage to Roy Lamon. To this union two children were born. Ferne cared for the home and was a devoted farm wife and mother. She was widowed at a young age as Roy passed away in 1957. On February 1959, Ferne was married to Ellis “Bud” Pender and they made their home on a farm in the Audubon area. Ferne and Bud retired to Audubon before Bud passed away in 1985. She enjoyed her years raising children, baking, sewing, and visiting with her many friends and relatives. Ferne was faithful and devoted to her church and active in circle and ladies aide groups. Ferne enjoyed going for rides in the country and looking at the crops. She especially enjoyed being a loving grandmother and spending time with her four grandsons. Ferne married Art Mjor on April 4, 1989 and they made their home in Audubon, before moving to an assisted living in Detroit Lakes. Art passed away in 2012 and Ferne made her new home at Oak Crossing in 2014.
