Gary Curtis Listul

Gary Curtis Listul was born July 1, 1957 in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, the son of Curtis and Audrey Listul. He passed away January 19, 2019 at the Frazee Care Center at the age of 61 years old. He was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes. He grew up and attended school in Detroit Lakes graduating with the class of 1976. Gary worked in carpentry with his father Curtis during high school and enjoyed playing hockey and ice skating when he was younger. After high school he began working at Vern and Lynn’s Red Owl. He continued to work customer service in the grocery business at Evans Supermarket, County Market, and Central Market. Gary enjoyed racing with his brother Larry, fishing, ice fishing and spearing. He was a member of First Lutheran Church and was active with the brown baggers Bible study.  Family and friends were very important to Gary. He is survived by his daughter:  Ashley Listul of Mahnomen; parents:  Curtis and Audrey Listul of Detroit Lakes; brother:  Larry (Sandee) Listul of Detroit Lakes; sister:  Cheryl (Michael) Kohler of Fargo; nieces and nephews:  Jill Olson, Todd Olson, Sara Randall,  Blake Thompson and other extended family and friends. Gary was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
