Gertrude Elizabeth Krogstad

Gertrude Krogstad was born on July 1, 1931, in Becker County, Minnesota born to Theodore and Mildred Hanson. Gertrude married the love of her life, Virgil Krogstad on June 11,1951 in the Detroit Lakes Seventh-day Adventist Church. Shortly after, they moved to Webb, Iowa where they continued farming. While there, three of their four children were born- Joan, Linda, and Allan.  They later moved back to the Callaway area to continue farming with Virgil’s father. While there, Connie was born. A few years later they moved closer to Detroit Lakes. Gertrude was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and of the Dorcas Society, which is now known as the Seventh-day Adventist community center where she served for 45 years. Gertrudes greatest love was sharing Jesus with everyone she encountered. She loved to help whoever was in need.

Gertrude is survived by one sibling: Donna (Richard) Lyman; children: Linda (Rick) Earley, Allan (Kristi) Krogstad and Connie (Jimmy) Hendry; grandchildren:

Jason Earley, Melanie (Joe) Bahneman, Heather (Lawrence) Turner, Shane Krogstad, Joshua (Liz) Walker, Heidi (James)Rolfe, Christina (Clint) Armstrong.

Great grandchildren: Katie (Nick) Edgar, Krissy and Nevaeh Turner, Joey (Courtney) Bahneman, Katelyn Bahneman, Hannah (Tatum) Shaffer, Haleigh Boese, Carter and Austin Earley, Aubrey (Marvin) Browder, Breanna Walker; great-great grandchild: Rosalyn Bahneman along with many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and step grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Virgil Krogstad, parents Theodore and Mildred Hanson, Stepmother May Hanson, sister Emily Digman, brother Karol Hanson, daughter Joan Russell, niece’s Rhonda Hanson Dee, and Geni Krogstad.
