Goldamae “Goldie” Elmyra Hagen passed away peacefully Friday March 2, 2018 at Ecumen –Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. She was born on February 11, 1933 in Bear Park Township, Norman County, Minnesota to Ingvald and Manda (Erikson) Hagen. Goldamae grew up near Waubun, and in 1946 she moved to Detroit Lakes with her parents. Goldamae graduated from Detroit Lakes High School in 1951 as class valedictorian. Goldamae worked many years at Consolidated Abstract and Title Company from 1951-1986. From 1986 to 1996 she was co-owner of Lakes Abstract Company. She retired due to health concerns. She enjoyed doing needle work, embroidering and knitting. In the 1950’s she did knitting for the Red Cross. Goldamae was a member of First Lutheran Church and belonged to the Ruth Circle. Goldamae is survived by nieces and nephews including Cheryl Brehm of Detroit Lakes; Bill Brehm of Fargo; Cindy Brehm of Minneapolis. She was preceded in death by her parents: Ingvald and Amanda Hagen, three brothers: Ivey, Buford, and Conway Hagen; sister: Adeline Brehm, and a nephew, Steve Brehm.
