Harriet A. Hahn age 93 of Detroit Lakes, MN died January 9, 2024, at Ecumen – Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes.
Harriet Anni Hahn was born March 9, 1930, in Philadelphia, PA to Jacob and Antonia (Otto) Christmann. She grew up and attended school in Philadelphia, graduating from Olney High School. She then attended the Pierce Business College, where she took classes in Secretarial and Accounting. Fond of sports in High School, she was on the swimming and bowling teams. After school she worked as a secretary for several business firms. Proud of her German/Austrian heritage she belonged to the German Club, where she met Charles Hahn. They married June 17, 1950. In 1976 they moved to Denver, CO. Following retirement, they moved to Detroit Lakes in 1994.
Harriet enjoyed being a homemaker and mother. Traveling and reading were favorite pastimes. Her faith was very important to her. She taught Bible School in Colorado and was very active at Faith Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes. She was blessed by having many wonderful, praying, Christian friends.
She is survived by one son, Charles (Donna) Hahn, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; one brother, Werner (Mary) Christmann; sister-in-law, Anna (Lester) Haugen; sister-in-law, Elsie (Alfred) Weiss; brother-in-law, Alfred (Viola) Hahn; and her parents.
