James T. Hockman

James Thomas (Tom) Hockman, 89, died January 21, 2018 in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.  Tom was born March 15, 1928 in Indianapolis, Indiana to John and Winnie (Mack) Hockman.  He was a graduate of Indiana State University.  Enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1951 and commissioned 2nd Lieutenant.  Tom married the love of his life, Mary Elizabeth Walter, August 25, 1951 in San Antonio, Texas. Tom and Mary resided in Colorado Springs, Colorado and Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.  Tom was the Director of Special Education for District 11 in Colorado Springs and they both owned the Lind Lake Camp Ground in Detroit Lakes, MN for 37 years. He survived by Marnie (Jim Shoemaker) Ammons, Tom (Vickie) Hockman, Steve (Nancy) Hockman, Mark (Cathy) Hockman and 9 grandchildren, 4 great children. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary of 64 years and his sister Ruth Lingenfelter.
