James Bruce Jurina

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our father, James B. Jurina, who left this world on August 7, 2025, at the age of eighty-eight. Born on May 8, 1937, raised in Oklahoma City, Ok. to Bethal and Stephen Jurina. Dad lived a life rich in love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to his family and community.

Dad was a proud Oklahoman, whose roots in Oklahoma City shaped his character and values. He was known for his warm smile, kind heart, and a spirit that could light up any room. Throughout his life, he exemplified the virtues of hard work and integrity, earning the respect and admiration of all who knew him.

A devoted family man, Dad cherished the time spent with his loved ones. He was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, and friend, always putting the needs of others before his own. His family was his greatest joy, and he took immense pride in their accomplishments and happiness. Dad had a unique ability to make everyone feel special, often sharing stories and wisdom that will be cherished for generations to come.

A true sports enthusiast, Dad had a special place in his heart for Oklahoma Sooner fast pitch softball and Oklahoma Sooner football. He could often be found cheering on his favorite team, sharing in the thrill of the game with those around him.

In addition to his love of sports, Dad found immense joy in fishing, where he spent countless hours by and on the water, enjoying the tranquility and challenge that his beloved hobby brought him. His passion for watching sports and being outdoors was infectious, drawing friends and family together for shared experiences and lasting memories.

Dad is survived by his children; James (Sandy) Jurina, Naytahwaush, MN, Jeffrey (Bobbi) Jurina, Detroit Lakes, MN, Anthony (Shannan) Jurina Cibolo Texas, Kara Jurina (Sergio Surlier) Moorhead, MN, Christy Jurina, Crescent, Ok, Amanda Jurina Ponca City Ok, Amber (Calvin) Donner, Ottertail, MN and his sister Nancy (Everett) Lynch, Washington, OK. Thirty-one grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his wife of 36 years Deanna Sue Jenkins Jurina, second wife Margaret Rogers, first wife Sharon Coon, Son, Richard Jurina, Daughters Veronica Jurina and Alicia Jurina; Parents Stephen Jurina, Bethal Blankenship; brothers Thomas Jurina, Robert Jurina Sisters Doris Williams, Gwendoline Hoskins, Glenda Brown, Mary Settle.

Dad will also be remembered by a host of friends and extended family who will miss his gentle spirit. His legacy of kindness and generosity will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.

As we say goodbye to Dad, we hold close memories of his love, wisdom, and the indelible mark he left on our hearts. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
