Janice Ellen Gilbertson

Janice E. Gilbertson age 75 of Detroit Lakes, MN died March 21, 2022 at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND.

Janice Ellen Gilbertson was born on January 30, 1947 in Pelican Rapids, MN to Earl and Jeanette (Nettestad) Gobel. She grew up and attended school in Pelican Rapids. On October 30, 1963 she was united in marriage to David Gilbertson at St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church near Detroit Lakes. They made their home and raised their daughters in Detroit Lakes.

Janice enjoyed camping, fishing, riding motorcycle, and baking.

She is survived by her husband, Dave; two daughters, Lori (Rick) Jorgenson, of Sabin, MN; and Wendy (Mark) Rodewald, of Detroit Lakes, MN; two granddaughters, Jessi (Derek) Brandt; and Alissa Rodewald; four great grandchildren, Brooke, Brody, Jordyn, and Carter; her mother, Jeanette Gobel; one brother, John (Pam) Gobel; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Gobel; one sister, Mary Bayne; and one granddaughter, Nicole Rodewald.

Memorial Services will be on Tuesday March 29, 2022; 11:00 a.m. at the West-Kjos Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes, with visitation one hour prior to services.
