Jared David Olson

Jared David Olson, 40, of Detroit Lakes, MN, sadly went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 4, 2023 in his home surrounded with family and friends by his side.

Jared David Olson was born on April 8, 1983 in Detroit Lakes, the son of Darrell and Vernette (Brogren) Olson. The youngest of two children, he grew up in Height of Land Township and attended school in Frazee, MN, class of 2001. After graduating from high school, he attended the DAC in Detroit Lakes. He had wonderful teachers and friends both at Frazee High School and the DAC.

Jared was very loving and caring person. He was always ready for an adventure. He loved to spend time with his family and friends, visiting, playing games, and going out to eat. He enjoyed music and movies and often sang along and loved country music. The Ninja Turtles were his favorite and he knew them all by name and color. Summertime was his favorite time and he often went traveling around the country side with his mom or watching the Minnesota Twins and Vikings with his dad. Whenever you’d see him, he always greeted you with “hi” and had a knock knock joke to tell you to make you smile!

He will always be in our hearts.

Remembering you is easy. I do it every day, but there is an ache within my heart that will never go away.

Jared is survived by his loving parents, Darrell and Vernette Olson, brother, Justin (Missy) Olson, Nephews: Alex Olson (Paige), William Olson, and Stetson Olson, nieces: Carli Olson, Elizabeth Olson, and Rice Olson, great-nephew, Wren Olson, uncles: Larry (Laurie) Olson, Jim (Mary Ann) Brogren, Vernon Jr. “Butch” (Karla) Brogren, Jerry (Late Toni) Brogren, Scott (Cheryl) Olson, aunt, Laurie Olson, cousins: Jason, Corey, and Kristi Brogren, Ross and Ryan Olson, and many many more, cousins and relatives. He loved everyone!

Jared was preceded in death by his grandparents: Clarence Olson, Laverne Olson and Vernon Sr. and Elzada (Fagerlie) Brogren, great-grandparents: Odin and Augusta Olson, Erwin & Elsie (Tessman) Wothe, Elmer and Mabel (Smith) Brogren, Oscar, Margareth (Valtinson) Fagerlie and great uncle, Gordon Wothe.

Memorial Service: 2 PM, Thursday, September 14, 2023 at Grace Lutheran Church, Detroit Lakes.
