Jeffrey Scott Moe

Jeffrey Scott Moe, of Detroit Lakes, MN passed away at his home on January 26, 2023 at the age of 56.

Jeff was born on June 19, 1966 in Detroit Lakes, MN where he lived his whole life.  He was the second son of the late Gordon and Loraine (Crane) Moe.  He enjoyed the usual childhood activities, attended Detroit Lakes High School graduating in 1984.  He attended Wadena Tech/College for 2 years and received his electrician’s license.

Jeff worked at Mark’s Electric for approximately 25 years.  He loved working on the community projects and homes.  Jeff recently began working at SJE Manufacturing of Detroit Lakes in the electronics area until his unexpected death.

He always had some project or activity and loved anything electrical.  He enjoyed riding his ATV, trains, working on his cars/trucks and snowmobiling; “going 90 mph across Detroit Lake to help his sister.”  Jeff was a member of the Sportsman’s Club, and loved spending time out at Tamarack Wildlife Refuge, being with nature and wildlife, he especially loved wolves.  He was lovingly known as “Uncle Jeff” to all the family pets.

Jeff’s faith was very important to him and devoted hours to studying scripture.  He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Detroit Lakes.  Jeff cared about people and always had a helping hand and heart.

He is survived by his sister, Linda (Tim) Truman of Long Prairie, MN; niece Stephany (Dan) Vassar of Spring Lake Park, MN; nieces, Nateley, Molly, Stacy, Cari and nephew Chad, and several cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, older brother Stephen, grandparents; Oscar and Gladys Moe and Elmer and Petra Crane, all of Detroit Lakes.

Jeff will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

A memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.  With a lunch being served one hour PRIOR to the service.
