John William Moberg

John William Moberg age 79 of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota passed peacefully into the warm embrace of his Lord and Savior on March 23, 2019 with his loving wife at his side.  John was born in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota on December 6, 1939 the son of Dr Clarence and Marquerite (Green) Moberg.  He graduated from Detroit Lakes high school (the great class of 1957), the University of North Dakota (5 years) and Officer Candidate school in 1962, serving in the Navy as a Lieutenant until 1967.  John spent most of his life working in sales.  John married Yvonne Kaatz in 1962.  In 1993 John married his high school classmate Sheila (Eggen) Barrow.  He was a wonderful and supportive husband, loving father, watchful grandfather, caring brother and a staunch friend.  John was firm in his conservative – constitution – political organizations as was his beloved father.  He was a true patriot and a genuine person. In the latter years, John lived life and lived Christ.  God has John in his keeping and we have him in our hearts.  It is well with John’s soul! John is survived by his wife Sheila, son Michael (Nancy) Moberg, daughter Susan (Chris) Olson, much loved grandchildren; Matthew and Noah Moberg, Hailey and Lauren Olson, Molly Barrow, brother Dr Allen Moberg, and many much loved nieces and nephews from his and Sheila’s families. John was preceded in death by his parents. Thank you to Hospice of the Red River Valley who gave great comfort and understanding to John and Sheila the last days of his journey.  Yes, God is good.
