Kenneth R. Berg age 85 of Detroit Lakes, MN died July 11, 2018 at the Viking Manor Nursing Home in Ulen, MN. Kenneth Richard Berg was born December 29, 1932 in rural Hawley, MN to Richard and Clara (Luthi) Berg. He grew up on the family farm and attended country school. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955 during the Korean War. On November 17, 1956 he was united in marriage to Gail Ness at Gran Lutheran Church near Hawley, MN. They made their home in Ulen, MN where Ken drove a milk truck. They later moved to Detroit Lakes, MN. Over the years Ken drove truck for various businesses in the area, including the U.S. Postal Service, Chelmo Turkey Farm, and Driveway Services. Kenneth enjoyed fishing, camping, and snowmobiling. He is survived by two daughters, Laurel Wright, of Frazee, MN; and Lois Berg, of Big Lake, MN; one son, Bryce (Michelle) Berg, of North Branch, MN; five grandchildren; several great grandchildren; one brother, Gary (Stephana) Berg; two sisters, Joann Nelson and Bonnie (Dave) Hagberg; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gail; and one daughter, Angela Berg. Funeral Services will be on Monday July 16, 2018; 11:00 a.m. at the Rollag Lutheran Church in Rollag, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Monday, Interment will be in the Gran Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Hawley, MN. Arrangements have been entrusted to the West-Kjos Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes, MN.
