On May 2, 2026, LaRue Bearman, age 95, passed away peacefully under the compassionate care of Ecumen – The Cottages and HIA Hospice care, where she had been residing since September 2024.
LaRue was born on March 18, 1931, to Jack and Bertha Martin of rural Chaffee, North Dakota. She graduated from Enderlin High School in 1948 and later attended Interstate Business College in Fargo.
On June 26, 1949, she married Clarence Bearman, beginning a life devoted to family as a loving wife and mother of four children: Laurel, Craig, Renee, and Melanie. Together, LaRue and Clarence shared 53 years of marriage, making their home in Enderlin and later enjoying their retirement years at Fish Lake and Little Pelican Lake in Minnesota. There, they loved entertaining family and friends, creating lasting memories—especially with their grandchildren.
After becoming a widow in 2002, LaRue made her home at Nodaway Condos in Detroit Lakes, where she formed many cherished friendships through her love of bridge clubs.
The joy of LaRue’s life was her family. She kept her mind sharp by reading, playing cards, doing crossword puzzles, walking, and cheering for the Minnesota Twins.
In her earlier years, LaRue was well known for her baking—especially her pies, which became her signature. She will be remembered for her strong faith in God and her positive outlook, even with her recent life’s challenges. She was a longtime member of First Lutheran Church and later became a member of Zion Lutheran Church-Franklin Lake.
LaRue is survived by three children: Laurel (Tom) Haugen of Thompson Falls MT; Renee Odom of Killeen TX; and Melanie Davis of Detroit Lakes MN. She is also survived by five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
LaRue was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence “Pid” Bearman; her beloved son, Craig; and her siblings, Darlene Strand and Darold Martin.
Services for LaRue will be held July 2, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church-Franklin Lake. Visitation will be one hour prior. A private family burial will be held at Enderlin Cemetery in Enderlin, ND.
Blessed be the memory of LaRue Jean Bearman.
