Lois was born to John and Lillian (Kuntze) Heyer on August 3, 1935 in Faribault, Minnesota.  She was raised and educated in Faribault, confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, Faribault, graduating from Faribault High School in 1953.  She worked for a time at the Minnesota School for the Deaf.  She was united in marriage to Odin Aune on December 1, 1956.   Marriage brought the new couple to northwestern Minnesota, where they lived in Gary and Ada, before settling in Hendrum, where they lived for 40 years.  Lois worked as the school secretary in the Hendrum School District from 1965 to 1976.  She then worked for 20 years as bookkeeper for the City of Halstad, Utilities, retiring in 1997.  She and Odin moved to Detroit Lakes that fall.  Odin died in 2011. In 2015, she moved to the twin cities area.    Lois thoroughly enjoyed visiting with others….whether in person, or on the phone.  She loved to keep in touch with family and friends…..she had a knack for remembering birthdays and anniversaries of loved ones.  She very much loved family, and spending time with them.  She was especially thrilled to be around her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.    Lois is survived by a son David (Mary) Aune of Forest Lake, MN and daughter Diane (Curt) Philumalee of Long Beach, MS; 5 granddaughters Chantelle (Andrew) Wimer of Ramsey, MN, Danette (Kevin) Peterson of Hugo, MN, Brianne (Brian) Henkel, of Coon Rapids, MN, Lucinda (Kurt) Degerlund of Philadelphia, PA and Andrea (Joe) Houston of Glenville, NC; and 4 great grandchildren Isabelle, Abigail, Johan and Harmon.   Lois was preceded in death by her husband Odin, her parents, brother, Howard, and sisters Lorraine and Marion.
