Lynae Michelle
Jones
June 30, 1964 – March 18, 2026
Lynae Michelle Jones, age 62, of Fargo ND, passed away March 18th, 2026.
Lynae was born June 30th, 1964, in Fargo ND and was blessed with loving parents, Virgil and Patricia Mahlum. She grew up near Lake Park MN on Big Cormorant Lake. She graduated from Lake Park High School Class of 1981. After graduation she moved to Duluth MN to attend University of Minnesota Duluth. Shortly after, she became sick and received the diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis. With her new diagnosis her journey shifted, and she moved back to the Fargo/Moorhead area and worked for Blue Cross and MeritCare. She lived in New York for a short time then returned to Minnesota.
She met her spouse, Parish in the early 2000's and they moved to Gonzales, Louisiana and were united in Marriage October 23, 2004. She moved back to Minnesota shortly after Parish's passing; although she was not a fan of the Minnesota winters, she was a true Minnesotan. Lynae was known for being smart, strong, stubborn and a social butterfly. Although her diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis at a young age shifted her life plans; she navigated the challenges with courage and determination.
Lynae enjoyed a beautiful day in the sunshine. She loved reading, baking, playing games (Sorry was her favorite) and good conversation with people; reminiscing brought her great joy.
She is survived by her father Virgil Mahlum of Detroit Lakes, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Parish; her mother, Patricia; her brother, Thomas and Grandparents.
A Memorial service will be held at Cormorant Lutheran Church, Lake Park MN on Friday March 27th, 2026, at 1:00pm with visitation 1 hour prior. Burial service will be at Cormorant Lutheran Church at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her memory to Cormorant Lutheran Church, Bethany Lutheran Homes of Fargo ND or Hearts in Action (HIA) Hospice of Fargo ND.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Bethany on 42 and HIA Hospice for the wonderful care given to Lynae.
