Margaret R. Narum age 59 of Detroit Lakes, MN died December 1, 2018 at her residence. Margaret Rose Narum was born December 31, 1958 in Cook, MN to Gilmer and Rita (Mainville) Anderson. She grew up and attended school there, graduating from Cook High School in 1976. In 1978 she was united in marriage to Rodney Sumpter in Cook, MN. They made their home in Lake Park, MN. Margaret worked at the Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes for several years. In 1995 she was united in marriage to Harold Narum in Detroit Lakes, MN. They made their home in Detroit Lakes until moving to Ada for a short time. They later moved back to Detroit Lakes. Margaret enjoyed playing cards, computer games, and camping. The real joy in her life was her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Harold; one son, Christopher (Genevieve) Sumpter, of Detroit Lakes, MN; two stepsons, Mike (Thea) Narum, of Woodbury, MN; and Jamie (Lisa) Narum, of Casselton, ND; seventeen grandchildren; one brother, Gerald (Claire) Anderson, of Kansas City, MO; two sisters, Beverly Johnson, of Lakeville, MN; and Joanne Stewart, of Homosassa, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister, Elaine McGunnigle; one brother, Marvin Mainville; and her parents. Memorial Services will be on Thursday December 6, 2018; 11:00 a.m. at the Northwoods Cowboy Church in rural Detroit Lakes, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Arrangements have been entrusted to the West-Kjos Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes, MN.
