Mary M. Jones, age 74 of Audubon, MN died April 27, 2024 at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND.
Mary Margaret Jones was born March 27, 1950 in St. Paul, MN to Edward and Margaret (Makedonsky) Hogan. Her family moved to Fargo, ND when Mary was a young girl. She grew up and attended school in Fargo. In the summers she enjoyed traveling with her Dad, who operated a siding business and often worked out of town. On June 30,1973 she was united in marriage to Gary Jones in Akeley, MN. They made their home in Minneapolis for a few years. It was during this time that Mary and Gary attended a Billy Graham Crusade, which was a life changing event for them. In 1975 they moved back to the Fargo -Moorhead area. In 1982 they moved to Big Cormorant Lake.
Mary was very active in her children’s lives, never missing any of their activities while growing up. She was a very generous lady, whose home was always open to everyone. She enjoyed visiting with everyone and was always accepting of others. Her faith was very important to her and she lived it every day. She loved the time she spent with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed being on her pontoon, playing bingo, and coffee.
She is survived by one daughter, Johanna (Jason Kirkwood) Jones, of Audubon, MN; one son, Sam (Kayla) Jones, of Detroit Lakes, MN; daughter by choice, Amy (Jason) Rosing, of Audubon, MN; four grandchildren, Jacob Rosing, Myah Rosing, Isaac Jones, and Lucas Jones; two sisters, Debbie (Steve) Rustwick, of Sabin, MN; and Chris (Don) Schwanke, of Fargo, ND; mother, Margaret Hogan, of Fargo, ND; brother in law, Mike (Carol) Jones, of Akeley, MN; sister in law, Karen (John) Rich, of Akeley, MN; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary; one sister, Edean Bredon; father, Edward Hogan; and father and mother in-law, Charles and Mavis Jones.
Memorial Services will be on Friday May 3, 2024; 2:00 p.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in rural Audubon, MN. Visitation will be from 1:00p.m. – 2:00 p.m. also at the Church. Interment will be in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the West-Kjos Funeral Home of Detroit Lakes.
