Patricia Joy Maloney

Patricia J. “Tricia” Maloney age 69 of Detroit Lakes, MN died June 19, 2025, in her residence, under the care of Hospice and her loving family.

Patricia Joy Maloney was born October 2, 1955, in Detroit Lakes, MN to Lloyd and Pearl (Johnson) Kohler. She grew up on the family farm and received her education in Audubon, MN, graduating from Audubon High School in 1974. Following high school, she worked on the farm and over the years also worked as a waitress in various local bars and restaurants, including Pikes Bay Bar and Restaurant, The Deroxe Club, The Cormorant Inn, The Bay Supper Club, Lake Eunice Resort and The Cormorant Pub. In 1995 she was united in marriage to Brian Maloney at their Oak Lawn Farm in Detroit Lakes. In 2001 Tricia and Brian purchased the Cormorant Pub from Tricia’s sister and brother-in-law, Pam and Otis Hesteness, which they owned and operated for the next twenty years. Tricia was an extremely hard worker and was the ultimate host at “the Pub.”

Tricia enjoyed bowling, softball and playing pool. She was very active at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. Spending time with family was very important to her and she always loved what farm life had to offer, especially her cows and chickens.

She is survived by her husband, Brian; one daughter, Jamie (Barry) Nelson, of Audubon, MN; one son, Nathan (Lisa) Lindblad, of Detroit Lakes, MN; four grandchildren, Taytum (20), Kendra (17), Macey (14), and Gunner (11); her father, Lloyd Kohler, of Detroit Lakes, MN; two sisters, Paulette Rosing, of Audubon, MN; and Pam (Otis) Hesteness, of Audubon, MN; three brothers, Rick Kohler, of Detroit Lakes, MN; Jon (Gina) Kohler, of Audubon, MN; and Jeff (Sheri) Kohler, of Audubon, MN; many nieces and nephews; and Bella Blue Maloney.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Pearl Kohler; brothers in law, Mike Maloney, Dave Rosing, and Paul Nybo; and sister-in-law, Eileen Maloney.

In lieu of flowers, Tricia requested donations be made to Hospice, Roger Maris Cancer Center or the Leukemia Society.

Memorial Services will be on Saturday June 28, 2025; visitation one hour prior, service at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Audubon, MN. Visitation will be on Friday from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. at the West-Kjos Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m.
