Roger Maurice Lundberg of Detroit Lakes, MN passed away on Wednesday April 20, 2022 at the age of 81. Roger passed away peacefully at home with his wife and children by his side.
Roger was born at home in Richwood Township in Becker County Minnesota on August 10, 1940 to Carl and Marie (Walberg) Lundberg. His entire life he had the desire for independence and the outdoors. He worked building I-94 in North Dakota and the Alaskan pipelines, and loved to tell stories about those adventures. When not working he could be found in his shop fixing machinery, sighting in rifles, or drinking coffee with family and friends. He had a passion for the outdoors including trapping and hunting. Regardless of age he remained genuine, free-spirited, and clever. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; children, Julie (Jim) Nistler, and Wayne (Karen) Lundberg; grandchildren, Sarah, Adrian, Shaun, Randy, Kristina, and Nicole; great grandchildren, Easton, Autumn, Davin, Jayde, Kayson, and Lennon; sisters, Jan (Ron) Anderson and Lois Welsch; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard Lundberg; sister, Kathy Muench; and brothers in law, George Welsch and Jody Muench.
Memorial Services will be on Saturday April 23, 2022; 2:00 p.m. at Lund Lutheran Church, rural Detroit Lakes, MN. Visitation will be on Friday from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the West-Kjos Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes. Interment will be in the Lund Lutheran Church Cemetery.
