In 1991, she moved to the Fargo, ND area where she met her “Minnesota family”, the Pazdernik’s and became close friends with the Swanson family. Rose had several different jobs including, working at the turkey plant, car detailing, cooking, and later worked at the Shooting Star Casino in Mahnomen, MN, where she made many friends that became very dear to her. Often on a nice summer day, Rose and her MN, Mom would skip work at the casino and escape to the beach in Detroit lakes, MN. She moved briefly to South Dakota and worked at a casino where she often joked about how her 20 minute drive took her to a two hour later time zone! Rose moved back to Minnesota, and returned working at the Shooting Star Casino, until she had to leave due to health problems. Once she was able to work again, she became a personal care attendant. She became a member of “A Place To Belong”, where she gained many more friends. Rose had many friends and they extended as far away as Canada. Rose had lived in Audubon, MN, Before needing to enter the Viking Manor Nursing Home in Ulen, MN. She had a love of crocheting, cooking pasta dishes, baking, reading, puzzles, and traveling. Often times she would use crochet as her doodle and would make huge projects. She could be found tearing the entire project apart because she had run out of a color and could not match it. If one was lucky, she could be convinced to let one of her friends have the project, rather than watch all those hours she spent creating, just to have her tear it apart. This was very rare however. Rose will be remembered as a dear friend to many, one that loved to crack a joke and have a great time.
