Sheila M. Widme-Heinen

Sheila M. Widme-Heinen, age 61 of Detroit Lakes, MN died July 12, 2020 at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND. Sheila Marie Widme-Heinen was born June 29, 1959 in Mahnomen, MN to Aldus and Joann (Erickson) Widme. She grew up and attended school in Twin Valley, MN, graduating from Twin Valley High School in 1977. She then worked several different jobs in the area. She met her husband, Don in 1980 and they later married. She worked at the Mahnomen Post Office for several years and later became the Postmaster in Naytahwaush, MN, retiring after eleven years there. Following her retirement, she worked part time at Buckle’s Hardware Store in Twin Valley, MN.

Sheila loved the Lord and her faith was very important in her life. She was full of laughter and joy. She loved to fish and be around kids. She was also very artistic. One of her favorite times was traveling to Norway with her cousin, Brandi.

She is survived by her mother, Joann Widme, of Detroit Lakes, MN; one brother, Scott (Vickie) Johnson, of Fridley, MN; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald (2018); father, Aldus Widme; and two brothers, Allen Widme, and John Widme.

Private Family Graveside Services will be at the Wild Rice Lutheran Cemetery in Twin Valley, MN.
