Steven E. Parsley age 61 of Audubon, MN died October 13, 2018 at Ecumen-Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes, MN, surrounded by family and under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Steven Edwin Parsley was born March 31, 1957 in Milwaukee, WI to Roy and Shirley (Iverson) Parsley. He grew up and received his education in Milwaukee. In 1975 he was united in marriage to Linda Reifschneider. They made their home in Milwaukee, where Steve worked in a Tannery. He moved to Fosston, MN in the early 1990’s and he worked at the Shooting Star Casino in Mahnomen, MN. It was there that he met Sandy Lee, who he would marry in 1998. They made their home on Cormorant Lake. He was forced to retire from the casino in November of 2017 due to poor health after working there for twenty years. Steve enjoyed woodworking, trapping, traveling, and putting together puzzles and models. He also liked movies, and old game shows, and was known to have a good sense of humor. He was survived by his wife Sandra; one daughter, Jennifer Lee, of Detroit Lakes, MN; eight sons, Shaun (Laura) Parsley, of Menasha, WI; Patrick Parsley, of Marquette, MI; Bobby Parsley, of Marquette, MI; Billy Parsley, of Stockton, IL; Christopher (Bianca) Parsley, of Marquette, MI; Jeffrey (Tammy) Lee, of Detroit Lakes, MN; David (Melane) Lee, of Hawley, MN; and Devin (Jenny) Lee, of Audubon, MN; eighteen grandchildren; one brother, LeRoy (Cindy) Parsley, of Racine, WI; one sister, Michelle (Angie) Parsley, of Bemidji, MN; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Suzie. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Bob Parsley. Funeral Services will be on Friday October 19, 2018; 11:00 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Audubon, MN. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the West-Kjos Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Interment will be in the First Lutheran Church Cemetery, Audubon, MN.
